Craignure Bunkhouse is an eco-sensitively designed hostel located just 350 meters from the Craignure ferry terminal on the Isle of Mull, making it an ideal base for island exploration and a hub for island bus services. Purpose-built in 2014, it offers 20 berths across four mixed dormitories, comprising two rooms sleeping six and two sleeping four. Each dormitory features an en-suite shower room, individual lockers, a reading light, and a USB port for each bunk. One bedroom is specifically designed for disabled access, offering wheelchair accessibility throughout the bunkhouse and a wet room with support bars.
The bunkhouse emphasizes sustainability, with underfloor heating and hot water powered by a log-based biomass boiler and solar tubes, complemented by energy-sensitive appliances and recycling facilities. Guests have access to a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, a spacious communal “Convivial Room” with flexible dining space, comfortable seating, a library of books and board games, and a large Freeview television. Other facilities include free WiFi throughout communal areas, laundry facilities, a boot room for drying wet outdoor gear, and secure storage for bikes. Bed linen is included, and towels can be hired. Dogs are accepted by prior arrangement, typically requiring exclusive room booking, with an additional charge. The Craignure Bunkhouse is situated next to the Craignure Inn, a traditional hostelry offering food and drink.
