Dervaig Hostel, also known as Dervaig Bunkhouse or Dervaig Village Hall Hostel, is a community-run accommodation nestled in the charming conservation village of Dervaig on the Isle of Mull. Located in the picturesque north-west corner of the island, approximately seven miles from Tobermory, it provides a friendly and convenient base for exploring this quieter part of Mull. Its central village location ensures easy access to local amenities, including the island’s oldest inn and a village shop.
The bunkhouse offers comfortable accommodation suitable for independent travellers, families, and small groups, featuring six beds distributed across two en-suite rooms. One room sleeps two guests, while the other accommodates four, each equipped with adult-sized bunk beds. Guests benefit from private wet room shower facilities within each room, and beds are fully made up with towels provided, ensuring a comfortable stay.
Guests have access to excellent self-catering facilities, including a well-equipped communal kitchenette and a dining area. There is also a lounge with comfortable seating and a small library, fostering a sociable atmosphere. Additional amenities such as free WiFi, ample parking, secure bike storage, and drying facilities cater specifically to walkers and cyclists. The hostel’s setting provides easy access to scenic walks around Loch Cuin and nearby standing stones, and it’s well-placed for trips to Calgary Bay and boat excursions from Ulva Ferry.
