Nonhebel Park, located near Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, is a vital light industrial and business development rather than a conventional public park. Initiated and managed by the Mull and Iona Community Trust (MICT), this innovative facility was established to address the significant local demand for small business premises, secure storage units, and fenced compounds in North Mull. It was named in commemoration of local businessman Andrew Nonhebel, whose vision helped bring this essential community asset to fruition.
The park offers a range of practical solutions for businesses and residents, including terraced workspace units, individual lock-up units, self-storage containers, and secure compounds. Developed in phases, with initial completions in 2020 and 2024, Nonhebel Park has proven highly successful, consistently experiencing full occupancy and extensive waiting lists due to the island’s high demand for such facilities. Ongoing expansion plans aim to further increase its capacity and utility.
Nonhebel Park plays a crucial role in strengthening the economic resilience of Mull, providing essential infrastructure that enables local businesses to expand, supports new enterprises, and helps create and sustain jobs year-round. Beyond its direct business benefits, the income generated from the park is reinvested by MICT into various other community benefit projects across the island, highlighting its integral contribution to Mull’s sustainable development.
