The Three Lochs Viewpoint on the Isle of Mull offers a truly stunning panorama for those travelling the A849 road from Lochdon. This scenic route, which takes you through incredible mountain scenery and offers views towards Ben More, Mull’s tallest Munro, culminates in a truly rewarding stop. After passing over a small crossroads at Ishriff and continuing for approximately 1km, visitors will discover this captivating spot, inviting them to pause and take in the expansive natural beauty of the island.
From this remarkable viewpoint, the landscape unfolds to reveal a picturesque valley overlooked by three distinct lochs: Loch an Eilein, Loch an Ellen, and Loch Airde Glais. The serene waters of these lochs, set against the rugged terrain, create a tranquil and beautiful scene. Beyond the captivating visuals, this location is also known as an excellent spot for wildlife enthusiasts, offering a high chance of seeing majestic Golden Eagles soaring high above.
To easily access the Three Lochs Viewpoint, if you are arriving by ferry from Oban to Craignure, simply turn left off the ferry. Drive along the A849 road towards Ishriff, and you will pass over a crossroads. Continue for approximately 1km past this point, and the designated viewpoint car park will be conveniently located on your left, providing straightforward access to this must-see scenic attraction on Mull.
