Tobermory Ferry Terminal, located at the picturesque northern end of the Isle of Mull, serves as a crucial link between the island and the Scottish mainland. Primarily, it operates the regular vehicle ferry service connecting Tobermory with Kilchoan on the remote Ardnamurchan Peninsula. This approximately 35-minute crossing provides a vital lifeline for residents on both sides, allowing access for shopping, services, and onward travel, while also offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore one of mainland UK’s most westerly points.

The terminal, situated at the end of Tobermory’s main pier, features a widened slipway, a ticket office with a small waiting area, and a passenger shelter. While not extensive, these facilities provide the necessary amenities for travelers embarking on their journey. Depending on the season, different Caledonian MacBrayne vessels like the MV Loch Linnhe or MV Raasay manage the route, accommodating both foot passengers and vehicles year-round, a capability introduced after slipways were built in 1991.

Beyond its functional role, the Tobermory to Kilchoan ferry journey is itself a scenic experience, offering views across the Sound of Mull. It forms part of the wider network of ferry services connecting Mull to the mainland, complementing the main Oban to Craignure and Lochaline to Fishnish routes.
