A commemorative plaque within the hotel honours the 200,000 officers and seamen who honed their skills on Mull before embarking on vital convoy protection missions in the North Atlantic.

The hotel’s historical prominence also extends to popular culture, having served as a memorable filming location for the classic 1945 movie “I Know Where I’m Going.” Affectionately known as “The Grand Old Lady” of Tobermory, it has witnessed a succession of owners and eras, each contributing to its rich tapestry.
