Andy Howard offers immersive photographic tours and guiding experiences on the Isle of Mull, with a primary focus on its iconic wild otters. Drawing on a deep personal connection to the island, having spent time there since 1965, Andy Howard brings extensive fieldcraft knowledge to help participants find and discreetly observe these elusive creatures. The workshops are designed for those eager to capture stunning images while prioritizing the welfare and undisturbed nature of the wildlife encountered.
The comprehensive five-day tours provide dedicated guidance on how to locate otters, interpret their signs, and employ ethical approach techniques. Beyond otters, participants also have opportunities to photograph other abundant Mull wildlife, including Golden and White-tailed Eagles, hen harriers, and various deer and seals. The experience includes hands-on tuition covering camera settings, photographic techniques, and even evening sessions for image review and post-processing assistance using professional software.
Accommodation is provided in a luxuriously converted chapel, conveniently located just metres from prime otter territory, and designed to cater for a maximum of two clients per week, ensuring a highly personalized and intimate experience. These all-inclusive workshops cover guided photography, transport on Mull, comfortable lodging, and all meals. Andy Howard’s guiding combines serious photographic intent with a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, making it an exceptional opportunity for wildlife photographers and enthusiasts.
