Salen Parish Church

Salen Parish Church, a prominent landmark in the village of Salen on the Isle of Mull, stands as a testament to the island’s enduring spiritual and community life. The current church, consecrated on July 9, 1899, is the third place of worship to occupy this significant site. Replacing an earlier Telford Parliamentary Church that had fallen into disrepair, the present structure is notable for its mid-Gothic architectural style, featuring a cruciform plan and external walls of bullfaced Ardshiel granite, contributing to its distinct appearance.

Beyond its role as a place of worship, Salen Parish Church serves as a vibrant hub for the local community. It hosts a diverse range of weekly activities, including Scottish Country dancing, fitness classes, and groups for mothers and toddlers, welcoming both island residents and visitors.
